Councilmunff,~-;r P,;terson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #89-11-302 <br /> <br />RESOLUrlON APPROVING POLICY GOVERNING APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND <br />COMMIS.~I )i'1.:~ IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WttF_FtEAS, it is the intention of the City Council to encourage the involvement <br />of the largcrq nu~nbr~.r of people in the local government process; and <br /> <br /> Wf~EREAS, individuals serving on multiple Boards or Commissions may have <br />greater iniluor~(;(? ,)ver tile policies of the City; and <br /> <br /> WtqEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to appoint members to Boards and <br />Commissions wtdch adequately represent the residents of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOK,~ COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> i ) That it is the policy of the City Council to avoid appointing individuals to <br />more than o~.'.~ Bo~trd or Commission unless adequate representation cannot be accomplished or it <br />is clearly in ¢~a t,est interest of the City of Ramsey to make such appointments to multiple <br />Boards or Comrtfi~..sions. <br /> <br />The motion for ttu; adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cich and upon vol~; being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the followil~!t w}ted against the same: <br /> <br />Nol Io <br /> <br />and the following ~:,bstained: <br /> <br />Nollo <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Mayor I.:;tt.,jl ~ tap n <br /> <br /> <br />
