Councilmcmhe~' P, zterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #90-03-075 RES()IAJT~,ON RECOGNIZING APRIL 7 THROUGH APRIL 14 AS 1990 NATIONA{, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK WIIEREAS, the week of April 7 through April 14, 1990 has been designated as National Commttrfity Development Week and Anoka County is participating in the Community Developme~t Blo~zk Grant (CDBG) Program which funds a variety of social service, economic developm~m~, Imblic utility and housing programs in the City of Ramsey; and W [ I ~_;l/E A S, the City of Ramsey recognizes that during the last nine years a partnership of federal, local ~overnment, non-profit and community efforts has enabled Anoka County to utilize 13.5 milli,.m dollars of ttUD-allocated CDBG Funds for public facilities, business developmcm, human services, housing development and development and rehabilitation to aid it's low-income cil iz,.ms and to preserve neighborhoods; and W llEl;t EAS, during 1990 National Community Development Week, Anoka County is extending special ~hanks and recognition to all participants, whose hard work and devotion to the neighborhoods and their low and moderate income residents, help insure the quality and the effectiveness; et' th{'. NOW TIIEII:I!;Ii,~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY ()Ir RAMSEY, I'.OUNTY OF ANOKA, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That lhe Ciiy of Ramsey, together with Anoka County, along with service providers, herc t~y p{~t ~tion the U.S. Congress and Administration to recognize the outstanding work being doric locally and nationally by the Community Development Block Grant Program and its vital importance to the community and people who live in it's low income neighbt~rh(~ods. 2) Ttaat Col,it.,: of this resolution be conveyed to the appropriate elected and appointed officials in thc i:cdcml Government. 3) Theft ti ~.: (?.i~y of Ramsey be added to the role of those committed to the preservation and full flmctii~g o/: lhe Community Development Block Grant and maintenance of it's essential featu c~:~ ov-.~r the course of the next Congress.
