Councilmt:mbcr Pct~rson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #90-06-187 RESOI,UTI(}N APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF RAMSEY AND ANOKA COUNTY FOR FUNDING OF 1990 LANDFII.i, ABATEMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY WHLRLAS, the State of Minnesota Legislature enacted the Select Committee on Recycling and the Environment (SCORE) Legislation which provides for collection of the sales tax on solid w~.~stc ~ lislx)sal; and WHERE^ S, counties are responsible for the distribution of said funds to municipalities; and WHEI{EAS, a joint powers agreement between Anoka County and the City of Ramsey is required p~ior t~ distribution of funds for municipal Landfill Abatement Programs from the SCORE tax n-.m~3 ~ NOW THEREF¢}RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSE , ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) Theft the Ci~_y of Ramsey hereby approves the joint powers agreement between the City of Ramsc:y zmd Anoka County regarding full participation by the City of Ramsey in establishin~, recycling programs pursuant to SCORE legislation and funding from Anoka County regarding the same. 2) That tl~e R~m~sey City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the .joi~,t powers agreement and any other necessary documents required on behalf of the City.
