Councilmember Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #91-07-156 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MN/DOT) A TRAFFIC <br />STUDY FOR 153RD AVENUE N.W. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has constructed 153rd Avenue N.W. with MSA funds from the <br />State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State requires a traffic study before setting or changing a speed limit on <br />an MSA road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />(Nowthen Boulevard <br />completion; and <br /> <br />the construction of 153rd Avenue N.W. between County Road #5 <br />N.W.) and County Road #56 (Ramsey Boulevard N.W.) is nearing <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for the safety of the residents along and using 153rd Avenue N.W. will be <br />best served by a speed limit of 40 mph; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 153rd Avenue N.W. now has a variety of speed limits along its length. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study by Mn/DOT for the <br />street known as 153rd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer will recommend to Mn/DOT that the speed limit along 153rd Avenue <br />N.W. be set at 40 mph. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That upon completion of the traffic study, the City Engineer shall have 153rd Avenue <br />N.W. posted with the correct speed as soon as the required signs are available. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
