Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #23-243 <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR ANOKA RUM RIVER DAM RECONSTRUCTION <br />AND MODIFICATION PROJECT BONDING REQUEST <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council acknowledges the Anoka Rum River Dam <br />Reconstruction and Modification Project, which proposes installation of automated crest gates, <br />maintenance platform, hydropower, lock system, and other recreational activities to include river <br />surfing below the dam; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council acknowledges the City of Anoka is the sole owner <br />of the Rum River Dam located in the City of Anoka, Anoka County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council acknowledges this project would provide <br />environmental and recreational benefits to the Rum River bordering the City of Ramsey. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) The City of Ramsey supports the 2024 Capital Budget General Obligation Bonding <br />request for the Anoka Rum River Dam Reconstruction and Modification Project. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />
