The City seeks Community Partners for the Adopt -a -Flag Program The City of Ramsey is seeking community partners for its Adopt -A - Flag program. The flags will be affixed to the light poles on Sunwood Drive NW and can serve as a symbol to honor the memory of a loved one or show civic pride. There are two donation levels for individuals or businesses, the Friends -of -the -Flag Level Sponsorship for $50 and Patriot Level Sponsorship is $500. Ride to End Alzheimer's The Ride to End Alzheimer's, a one -day bicycle ride event, will be held on Saturday, October 14. It's the first time that The Ride to End ALZ is being held in Minnesota and part of it will travel through Ramsey. Check out the map at www. citvoframsey..com/DocumentCenter/View/7180/ALZ- Ride-Map. Please watch for cyclists during this event. 100% of the money raised through the ride goes directly to research. All expenses to run the events are paid for by the association. The association organizes Rides throughout the country because more than six million Americans have ALZ and more than 11 million others act as unpaid caregivers and the numbers are multiplying. Fall Water Main Flushing The City of Ramsey's Utility Department will conduct its semi-annual water main flushing from Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 27. This process flushes iron deposits that may have settled to the bottom of the pipes out of the system. Flushing is necessary for water quality and will disturb the City's water system. Water may be discolored by iron, but it is fit for human consumption. However, discolored water may stain light-colored clothing being washed. To alleviate this problem, you may want to fill your washer with water and check on its clarity before adding your clothes. We appreciate your patience and regret any inconvenience that this may cause. Anoka Haunted House The Anoka Knights of Columbus is hosting their 35th Annual Haunted House at the Anoka Fairgrounds. The dates are October 13-14, 19-21, and 26-28, and times Thursday 7:00-9:00 pm, Friday 6:00-9:00 pm and Saturdays 6:00-10:00 pm. The Haunted House is an indoor walking maze with scares throughout. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for children 10 and under. This event is run by volunteers who come together to raise money for local community members, non -profits, and the Anoka County Brotherhood food shelf.
