Utility installation within the dripline of protected trees, <br /> 35 during construction or thereafter, can only occur using trenchless methods. <br /> 36 (6) The mowing,clearing,and grubbing of brush located within or under the dripline of protected <br /> 37 trees may be allowed, provided such mowing, clearing, or grubbing is accomplished by hand <br /> 38 or by mowers. The use of heavy equipment for this purpose shall not be allowed. <br /> 39 (E) Removal threshold. <br /> 40 (1) Within residential developments, no more than A�60 percent of the inches of existing <br /> 41 significant tree DBH shall be F`tained en site <br /> removed. <br /> 42 (2) Within business and employment developments, no more than 30-70 percent of the <br /> 43 inches of existing significant tree DBH shall be T`tained on site removed. <br /> 44 (3) Significant trees removed for water quality treatment ponds, public trails and sidewalks, and <br /> 45 arterial and collector streets as defined herein, or that are considered invasive species, are <br /> 46 considered exempt from the removal threshold calculation. <br /> 47 (F) Reforestation/restitution requirement. If a development exceeds the removal threshold specified <br /> 48 in (E) above, the developer shall either reforest areas within the site, pay restitution, or some <br /> 49 combination thereof. <br /> Page 48 of 160 <br />
