Weekly UPDATE <br />Administrator's Report October 27, 2023 <br />Council Update <br />We're Hiring! <br />Utilities Maintenance Worker - Full -Time <br />Salary: $27.18 - $33.98 Hourly <br />Closing Date: October 29, 2023, 11:59 pm <br />Primary Objective of Position: To provide general and <br />skilled maintenance of public water and sewer utilities. <br />This includes annual maintenance and troubleshooting <br />of hardware, building and grounds maintenance in and <br />around utility structures and equipment and responding <br />to utility emergencies as necessary. This position will also <br />be involved in snow plowing of public streets, trails and <br />walks. The Utilities Maintenance Worker is required to be <br />a member of the on -call team and work a rotating on -call <br />schedule 7-8 weeks throughout the year. Members of the <br />on -call team must reside within approximately 30 minutes <br />from the Public Works Facility (14199 Jasper Street NW) <br />and be available to respond during evenings, weekends and <br />holidays. The position reports to the Utilities Supervisor. <br />Rink Attendant - Temporary Seasonal <br />Salary: $13.00 - $14.5 0 Hourly <br />Closing Date: November 7, 2023, 11:59 pm <br />Primary Objective of Position: To maintain the warming <br />houses during the skating season through responsible, safety - <br />minded work as a part-time temporary Ice Rink Attendant <br />at Central Park and Ramsey Elementary School. Weather <br />permitting, the warming houses are expected to open Friday, <br />December 15, 2023 and will remain open for approximately <br />ten (10) weeks. The warming houses are typically open from <br />3:30 pm to 10:00 pm on weekdays, from 10:00 am to 10:00 <br />pm on Saturdays, and from 12:00 pm (noon) to 8:00 pm on <br />Sundays. The position reports to the Building Maintenance <br />Supervisor. This is an AFSCME Union position working 40 <br />hours a week; Monday through Thursday 1:30 pm to 10:00 <br />pm and Friday 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. <br />Firefighters - Paid On -call <br />Salary: $13.65 - $17.70 Hourly <br />Closing Date: November 7, 2023, 11:59 pm <br />Primary Objective of Position: To respond to a variety <br />of emergency and non -emergency events under the general <br />supervision of an officer and are expected to function <br />effectively as part of a highly trained team. They perform <br />duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, <br />emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material <br />responses, water and ice rescue. Paid On -call Firefighters <br />also are required to attend regularly scheduled training in <br />order to maintain the high level of knowledge, skill and <br />ability necessary to function safely and effectively as a <br />firefighter and EMS provider in accordance with state law <br />and standard operating procedures. The City of Ramsey <br />is recruiting for Station #1 (15050 Armstrong Boulevard <br />in Ramsey) and Station #2 (5650 Alpine Drive NW in <br />Ramsey). Paid On -call Firefighters must meet response <br />time requirements from the station that they are assigned. <br />All formal (required) training will be provided and paid <br />for by the City. No previous experience is necessary.
