<br />Councilmember Specht introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #23-255 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO VEIT & COMPANY, INC. OF <br />ROGERS, MINNESOTA FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #23-02; CENTRAL PARK <br />PARKING LOT RECONSTRUCTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct the Central Park main parking <br />lot; and <br /> <br />th <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-089, adopted April 12, <br />2022, the City Council accepted and awarded the proposal to Bolten & Menk, Inc. for Topographic <br />Survey of the project area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #22-285, adopted December <br />13, 2022, the City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for <br />Improvement Project #23-02, Central Park Main Parking Lot Reconstruction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-166, adopted July 25, 2023 <br />the City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer and <br />authorized advertisement for bids for the same improvements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-184, adopted August 22, <br />2023, a contract was awarded to Veit & Company, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$561,036.71 for construction and said improvements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as of October 24, 2023 $0.00 has been paid to date; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and <br />recommends partial payment No. 1 to Veit & Company, Inc., of Rogers, Minnesota for <br />improvement project #23-02, Central Park Parking Lot Reconstruction in the amount of <br />$184,952.13. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) The City Council hereby authorizes partial payment No. 1 to Veit & Company, Inc. of <br />Rogers, Minnesota for Improvement Project #23-02, Central Park Parking Lot <br />Reconstruction in the amount of $184,952.13. <br /> <br />2) The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the release <br />form for this payment. <br /> <br />3) The total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills <br />for the date of October 24, 2023. <br /> <br />
