Community Development Director Hanson reviewed the Staff report concerning the public use of <br /> tobacco and cannabis use. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Woestehoff, seconded by Councilmember Riley, to Ordinance 423-15 <br /> Amending Chapter 34 Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions, Article L In General, of the City <br /> Code, by Adding Section 34-2 Regarding Tobacco and Cannabis Use Within Public Property. <br /> Further discussion: <br /> Councilmember Specht shared that he agrees with a lot of what is in the ordinance; however, he <br /> does find it to be a little too restrictive for tobacco. He stated that he will not be supporting this. <br /> Councilmember Howell stated that Staff has put a lot of time into creating this ordinance and said <br /> that it is crafted quite well. She noted that there is not a perfect answer to this. She added that she <br /> will not be supporting this tonight; however, she does like the final ordinance that Staff came up <br /> with. <br /> A roll call vote was performed: <br /> Councilmember Musgrove aye <br /> Councilmember Riley aye <br /> Councilmember Howell nay <br /> Councilmember Olson aye <br /> Councilmember Specht nay <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff aye <br /> Mayor Kuzma aye <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 8. MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> City Administrator Hagen announced upcoming meetings and events. <br /> Councilmember Musgrove congratulated the three businesses from Ramsey that won awards at <br /> the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce, which were Bob FM, Inky Elf, and Minnesota Tool and <br /> Die Works. <br /> 9. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Musgrove,to adjourn the meeting. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Kuzma, Councilmembers Riley, Musgrove, Howell, Olson, <br /> Specht and Woestehoff.
