Gov <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />Anoka County Honors Medlink Volunteer Drivers <br />Volunteers who drive for Anoka County's Medlink Transportation Program were honored <br />during an Oct. 24 luncheon at the Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley. <br />Between Sept. 1, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023, volunteer drivers racked up a total of <br />105,745 miles on 4,971 trips, driving passengers primarily to veterans' medical facilities, as well <br />as other clinics and medical facilities. Anoka County Medlink drivers contributed 6,454 hours of <br />service. That represents more than 268 days. <br />Commissioner Matt Look, chair, Anoka County Board of Commissioners, commended all <br />the drivers for their service. <br />"The value these drivers provide is remarkable," Look said. "In addition to bringing clients <br />to appointments they need to go to, these drivers oftentimes forge lasting relationships with the <br />people they're transporting.
