CASE # 6 <br /> <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS TO THE <br />PROCEDURE FOR PROCESSING SUBDIVISION APPLICATIONS; <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the September 4, 1990 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Commissioner <br />Deemer requested that a case be added to the Commission's agenda regarding the possibility of <br />modifying the procedure for processing subdivision applications to require that the sketch plan be <br />reviewed by the Park and Recreation Commission prior to the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The following represents the current procedure used in processing subdivision applications: <br /> <br />1. Application required to be submitted 3 weeks prior to the initial meeting. <br /> <br />2. Sketch plan to the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />3. Sketch plan to the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />4. Preliminary plat to the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />5. Preliminary plat to City Council. <br /> <br />6. Final plat to City Council. <br /> <br />The following represents a scenario using the current processing procedure based on regular <br />Commission meeting dates and City Council's policy to review community development issues at <br />their regular meeting falling on the 4th Tuesday of the month. <br /> <br />January 16 - Receive application <br />Februrary 6 - Review of sketch plan by Planning and Zoning Commission <br />February 14 - Review of sketch plan by Park and Recreation Commission <br />March 6 - Review of preliminary plat by Planning and Zoning Commission <br />March 27 - Review of preliminary plat by City Council <br />April 24 - Review of final plat by City Council <br /> <br />The following represents a scenario using a modified procedure whereby the Park and Recreation <br />Commission would be the first board to review a sketch plan based on regular Commission <br />meeting dates and City Council's policy to review community development issues at their regular <br />meeting falling on the 4th Tuesday of the month. <br /> <br />January 24 - Receive application <br />February 14 - Review of sketch plan by Park and Recreation Commission <br />March 6 - Review of sketch plan by Planning and Zoning Commission <br />April 3 - Review of preliminary plat by Planning and Zoning Commission <br />April 24 - Review of preliminary plat by City Council <br />May 22 - Review of final plat by City Council <br /> <br /> <br />
