PRINTER'S AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION ORDINANCE 1t98-02 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SALE, POSSESSION, AND USE OF TOBACCO, TOBACCO PRODUCTS, AND TOBACCO RELATED DEVICES IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY AND TO REDUCE THE ILLEGAL SALE, POSSESSION, AND USE OF SUCH ITEMS TO AND BY MINORS The City of Ramsey Ordains: SECTION 1. SUMMARY It is the intent of this Ordinance to regu- late the sale, possession, and use of tobacco, tobacco products, and tobacco related devices in the City of Ramsey and to redbce the illegal sale, possession, and use of such items to and by minors. To accomplish this purpgse, this ordinance prohibits the sale of individually packaged cig- arettes and prohibits the sale of cigarettes from vending machines and prohibits serf-service merchandising of cigarettes, This Ordinance also provides for mandatory compliance checks at cigarette retailing establishments: provides for d§arette ~ice.nse fees, and pro- vides for penalties for violations of its provi- sions either through administrative civil process or by criminal prosecution. SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its passage and publication. Passed by the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, this the 13th day of January, 1998.
