ORDINANCE #9g-03 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE KNOWN AS <br />"BUILDING AND HOUSING". <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.30 OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY <br />CITY CODE, WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS". <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey Ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of Ordinance #98-03 has been approved by the City Council of <br />the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />It is the intent and effect of ordinance #98-03 to update the City's individual on-site sewage <br />disposal system regulations and to provide minimum standards for and regulation of individual <br />sewage treatment systems. <br /> <br />A printed copy of Ordinance #98-03 is available for inspection by any person at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center during regular business hours. <br /> <br />This Ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and thirty (30) days after publication <br />according to law. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 8.30 of Chapter 8 of the City Code is amended and replaced with the following: <br /> <br />8.30 Sewage and Wastewater Treatment. <br /> <br />8.30.01 <br /> <br />General Provisions. <br /> <br /> a. Purpose. The purpose of the Sewage and Wastewater Treatment SECTION shall <br />be to provide minimum standard for and regulation of individual sewage treatment systems <br />("ISTS") and septage disposal including the proper location, design and construction; their <br />necessary modification and reconstruction; their operation, maintenance and repair to protect <br />surface water and groundwater from contamination by human sewage and waterborne household <br />and commercial wastes; to protect the public's health and safety, and eliminate or prevent the <br />development of public nuisances pursuant to the authority granted under Minn. Stat. Chapters <br />115 and 145A and Minnesota Rules Chapter 7080 and as amended that may pertain to sewage <br />and wastewater treatment. <br /> <br /> <br />
