ORDINANCE #9~TM ~ CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.11 "PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/' SUBSECTION 9.11.02 "ACCESSORY USES," SUBDIVISION 12 "SIZE RESTRICTIONS OF ACCESSORY STRUCTURES" OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. SUMMARY The following official summary of ordi- nance #98-04 has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly inform- ing the public of the intent a'nd effect of the Ordinance. It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #98-04 to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 9 (Zoning and Subdivision Of Land), Section 9.11 (A'cc~$s'&y '0ge~), Sub'cti~lslb'rt.'12"'CSize Restrictions of Accessory Structures) to amend the regulations for accessory structures to: Lower the minimum property size thresh- old from 2.,5 acres to 2.0 acres to allow construction of metal accessory structures (pole buildings). Impose design standards for accessory structures constructed on properties from two acres to five acres in size. The design standards shall include soffit, facia and eave overhang of the same dimension as the principal structure. The exterior facing finish shall be at a minimum color compat- ible with the principal structure, as deter- mined by the Building Inspector. Galva- nized finishes shall not be permitted. Remove, in the event that the private garage is less than 864 square feet, the option of applying to the maximum acces- sory structure size the difference of the pri- rate garage square footage from 864 square feet. Thereby setting an absolute maximum size unless the Ramsey City Council allows a variance. Clarify that computation of the parcel size, or minimum area of lot, shall not include the right-of-way of any public street or thoroughfare, r SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. The effective date of this ordinance is thir- ty (30) days after its passage and publk:ation, subject to City Charter Section 5.07. Adopted by the Ramsey City Council the 10th day of March, 1998.
