PRINTER'S AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION ORDINANCE #98-17 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 2 WHICH IS KNOWN A5 THE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 2.03.06, SUBDIVISION 4; OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY BY CHANGING THE NAME OF THE FIRE BOARD TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY BOARD AND ASSIGNING THE ADDITIONAL DUTIES OF POLICE DEPARTMENT REVIEW ISSUES TO THE BOARD. The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the. authority granted the City Council by Sections 2.2 and 3.4 of the Ramsey City Charter. SECTION 2. PURPOSE The purpose of this Ordinance is to: 1. Change the name of the Fire Board to the Public Safety Board; and r 2. Amend the duties of the Board to apply to the Police Department in addition to 'the Fire Department. SECTION 3. AMENDMENT Section 2.03.06 of the City Code is amend- ed to provide as follows: Subd. 4. 1. Public Safety_ BeeF. J, The p~i~ mary function of the Public Safety .Board is to review administrative and/or operational mat- '. [ers relative to public safety and to advise the City Council of policy matters relevant to the~ public safety functions in Ramsey. The duties' of the Public Safety Board shall be: a. Provide administrative advice to the F re Chief and Police Chief, promote communF: .cation within the Fire Department and the~ Police Department and between the two departments and other community leaders. b. Advise the City Council in the selection of: the Fire Chief and Police Chief. , c. Review operations of the Fire Department and Police Department arid advise the Fire Chief and Police Chief in determining' possible areas of improvements. d. Review rules and regulations for the Fire Department and Police Department. SECTION 4. EFFECIIVE DATE The effective date of this Ordinance is' thirty (30) days after its passage and publica- tion, subject to City Charter Section 5.07.. STATE OF MINNESOTA ) County of Anoka ) ss Peter G.
