Accidental Overflow <br /> <br />Holding tanks shall be monitored to minimize the chance of <br />accidental sewage overflows. Techniques such as visual <br />observation, warning lights or bells, or regularly scheduled <br />pumping shall be installed which allows twenty-five per cent (25%) <br />reserve capacity after actuation. <br /> <br />Subd. 3 - Other Systems <br /> <br />Where unusual conditions exist, special systems of treatment and <br />disposal other than those specifically mentioned above may be <br />employed, provided: <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />Reasonable assurance of performance of such system is <br />presented to the council; <br />The engineering design of such system is first approved <br />by the council; <br />There is no discharge to the ground surface or to surface <br />waters; <br />Treatment and disposal of wastes is in such a manner so <br />as to protect the public health and general welfare; <br />Such systems comply with all applicable requirements of <br />these standards and with all local codes and ordinances; <br />Design criteria is reported to the agency within one (1) <br />month after installation of the system, where use of such <br />system is allowed by the council; <br />Performance of such system be monitored and reported to <br />the agency annually for a period of at least five (5) <br />years after installation, including continual monitoring <br />of water used (see Section 150.014H Subd. 2). <br /> <br />Setback Requirement <br /> <br />No setback requirement shall be imposed in the Urban Area, except <br />in cases where drainfields are installed on property sloping <br />greater than four (4) feet horizontal to one (1) foot vertical. <br />In cases where said slopes are greater than 4:1, no drainfield <br />trench shall be located closer than six (6) feet from the ground <br />surface as measured horizontally from the trench bottom. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. REPEAL <br /> <br /> Sections 150.014F and 150.01.4G pertaining to FINAL TREATMENT <br />AND DISPOSAL - STANDARD SYSTEM and FINAL TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL - <br /> ALTERNATIVE SYSTEMS in the Ramsey City Code entitled "Sewage <br />Disposal Systems" chapter are hereby repealed after the effective <br />date of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br /> <br />
