percentages~ Twenty per cent (20%) for tw~lv~ (12) <br />inches of filter materials below the distribution <br />pipe; thirty-four per cent (34%) for eighteen (18) <br />inches; and forty per cent (40%) for twenty-four (24) <br />inches. The filter material shall completely encase <br />the disposal pipes to a depth of at least two (2) inches. <br /> <br />Soil is unsuitable for standard system if percolation <br />rate is less than one tenth (0.1) minute per inch. <br /> <br />Special requirements for treatment units for problem <br />soils with this percolation range. For soils having <br />more than 50 percent of very fine sand by weight, plus <br />fine sand having a particle size range of 0.05 <br />millimeters (sieve size 270) to 0.25 millimeters (sieve <br />size 60), the required soil treatment area is 1.67 <br />square feet per gallon of sewage flow per day. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 - Location <br /> <br /> 1. On slopes in excess of twelve per cent (12%), the soil <br />profile shall be carefully evaluated in the location of the <br />proposed soil treatment area and downslope to identify the presence <br />of layers with different perm. abilities that may cause sidehill <br />seepage. In no case shall a trench be located within fifteen (15) <br />feet of where such a layer surfaces on the downslope. <br /> <br /> 2. Bed construction shall be limited to areas having natural <br />slopes of less than six per cent (6%). <br /> <br /> 3.
