',UIfUINANCE 801 -13 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH 15 KNOWN AS THE "GENERAL PROVI- SIONS" CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER.2 "GENERAL PROVISIONS" OF THE CITY CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 1.03 ENTITLED "WARDS ". The City Council of City of Ramsey, Minnesota ordains: :CTION 1. AMENDMENT Section 1.03 Wards, is hereby added to the City Code which section shall provide as'follows: 1.03.01 -- Authority. This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority grant - ed the City Council by Section 2.3.2 of the Ramsey City Charter and Minnesota Statutes ✓x 205.84. 1.03.02 -- Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to divide the City into four wards that are as equal In population as is practicable with each ward being composed of compact contiguous territory. 1.03.03 -- Ward Descriptions. Following is the legal description of each ward. WARD 1: The boundary of Ward 1 is described as follows: See attached City Map showing graphically the boundaries of WARD 1. WARD 2: The boundary of Ward 2 is described as follows: See attached City map showing graphically the boundaries of WARD 2. WARD 3: The boundary of Ward 3 is described as follows: See attached City map showing graphically the boundaries of WARD 3. WARD 4: The boundary of Ward 4 is described as follows: See attached City map showing graphically the boundaries of WARD 4 SECTION 2. SUMMARY. The following is the official summary of Ordinance #02 -13, which has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as dearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. • Section 1:03 Wards, shall be added to the City Code. During a special election in November 2001, the residents of the City voted in favor of the City of Ramsey going to a Council ward system. The City is, therefore, divided into four wards that are as equal in population as is practicable with each ward being composed of compact con - tiguous territory. Said Section describes the City's ward boundaries. A map is attached showing graphically the boundaries of each ward. A complete legal description is avail - able at City Hall. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE The effective date of this ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and .publi cation, subject to City Charter Section 5.07.
