- 3 - <br /> <br />110.037 Duties of Animal Control Officer. The Animal Control <br />Officer shall perform the following duties: <br /> <br />Capture, seize and deliver to any designated pound any <br />dog found: running at large within tile City; unlicensed; <br />or not wearing the metal tag provided for in this <br />chapter. <br /> <br />Pick up and dispose of the carcasses of every dead <br />ani real <br /> <br />Investigate all cases of animal bites reported to him <br />and supervise the quarantine of any such animal to <br />assure that it is kept under observation for a period of <br />14 days. <br /> <br />Report to the Chief of Police weekly on the activities <br />of the Animal Control ~)l~'ficer within the City. <br /> <br />110.038 Impoundment. All dogs picked up by the Animal <br />Control Officer or any of his duly authorized assistants <br />shall be immediately transported to the ~esignated pound. If <br />the owner is known, he shall be immediately notified by <br />telephone or personal contact and by written notice to his <br />last known address. If the owner is unknown, written notice <br />containing a description of the animal shall be posted at ~he <br />pound and the City Hall. The notice shall advise the owner <br />that he has five (5~ regular business days to claim the dog. <br />"Regular business day" means any day during which the pound <br />is open to the public not less than four (4) consecutive <br />hours between the hours of 8:U0 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />110.039 Reclaiming. An owner may reclaim an impounded dog: <br /> <br />If the dog has a current license, by paying to the <br />pound master an impounding fee of $50.00 plus a <br />boarding fee in an amount determined by agreement <br />between the City and the designated pound, for each oay <br />the animal was confined. '[he impounding fee for any <br />dog impounded twice within ~2 months shall be $100.00. <br /> <br />If the dog does not have a current license, by first <br />obtaining a license from the City Clerk and paying the <br />above costs to the pound master. <br /> <br />110.031U No interference with Officer. It shall be <br />unlawful fo~ any person to molest or in any way interfere <br />with any peace officer, animal control officer, or any of <br />their duly authorized assistants, or with any duly authorized <br />agent while engaged in performing work under tile provisions <br />of this chapter. <br /> <br />110.0311 Unclaimed Animals. Any animal not claimed within <br />the alloted ti~qe shall be disposed of in accordance wi'~h the <br /> <br /> <br />
