80.07. FIRE BOARD. <br /> <br />A Fire Board is hereby established consisting of the City Administrator, Police <br />Chief, two members of the City Council, three Fire Fighters, and the Fire Chief <br />(ex officio). <br /> <br />80.071. PURPOSE OF FIRE BOARD. <br /> <br />The purpose of the Fire Board shall be to provide administrative <br />assistance to the Fire Chief, promote communication within the fire <br />department and between the fire department and other community leaders; to <br />act as a selection board for Fire Chief and make recommendations to the <br />City Council; to review fire department operation on a quarterly basis and <br />assist the Fire Chief in determining possible areas of improvements; to <br />review and approve rules and regulations for the fire department; to act <br />as Fire Chief administratively in the absence of the Fire Chief; to <br />confirm Officer appointment by the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />80.08. RULES AND REGULATIONS. <br /> <br />Rules and regulations governing procedures, conduct, continued membership, and <br />other fire department related criteria may be established by the Fire Board. <br /> <br />80.09. COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND BENEFIT ASSOCIATIONS. <br /> <br />Ail compensation, benefits, and benefit associations will be approved or <br />established by the City Council via resolution. <br /> <br />80.10. PROHIBITION. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to give or make, or cause to be given or <br />made, an alarm or fire without probable cause, or to neglect or refuse to obey <br />any reasonable order of the Fire Chief or Officer in charge at a fire or to <br />interfere with the fire department in the discharge of its duties. Any <br />violation of this section is a misdemeanor and is subject to all penalties <br />provided for such violations under the provisions of State law. <br /> <br />80.11.
