Subd. 2. Liability of Property Owner <br />T~e customer receiving the service shall be liable to the City for all bills accruing <br />thkough the use of water and sewer facilities upon the owner's premises whether <br />th~ same be personally used by the owner, the owner's tenant or other occupant of <br />th~ premises. <br /> <br />S~bd. 3. Billing Statements <br /> <br />Bffiing statements for water and sewer charges for the preceding period shall be <br />m~iled to each customer within ten (10) business days of period end, and shall <br />include the amount due for repairs on meters, fines, penalties or other indebtedness <br />art~ such statement shall be deemed sufficient notice to the customer of charges <br />mlide. Said statements shall be due and payable to the City on or before the end of <br />thb month in which they are billed. <br /> <br />Stibd. 4. Delinquent Statements <br />Ail billing statements not paid on or before the due date shall be considered <br />d~inquent. It shall be the duty of the City to promptly collect delinquent accounts, <br />anal the City shall notify each delinquent customer or, in case the customer cannot <br />b~found, then the person in charge of the premises, of the amount of the bill due. <br />If {he bill is not paid or if satisfactory arrangements for payment are not made with <br />th~ City within ten (10) days after such notice, the City shall notify the delinquent <br />customer or the person in charge of the premises that in the case of water, service <br />will be shut off. In all cases where satisfactory arrangements for payment have not <br />b~n made within 72 hours thereafter, instructions shall be given to shut off service <br />at the stop box. <br /> <br />Su'bd. 5. Service Charges <br /> <br />There shall be service charges for turning water on or off at the request of the <br />property owner and for raising or lowering stop box tops to correspond with <br />ground level change made by the property owner. <br /> <br />Any amounts due hereunder for municipal water or sanitary sewer charges plus <br />[interest and penalty may be collected in an action brought for that purpose in the <br />name of the City; or the Clerk may certify to the County Auditor the amount due <br />for municipal water and sewer charges plus interest and penalty, together with <br />the legal description of the premises served and the County Auditor shall <br />ithereupon enter such amount within the tax levy on said premises collectible <br />iwith the taxes for the ensuing year, provided, however, that nothing herein <br />shall change the provisions of this Ordinance with reference to shutting off <br />!water for the non-payment of a water bill. <br />iWhen the customer or property owner wants to terminate the water service <br />!serving the property owner's property, the property owner shall notify the City <br />ito turn off the water service. The meter shall be read at that time to determine <br />ithe final bill. <br /> <br />iln all cases where water has been turned off for the nonpayment of bills or for <br />Molation of any rules or regulations of the City, such water shall not be again <br />.~urned on unless and until such bills have been fully paid plus interest and <br /> <br /> Page 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
