g. <br /> <br />h. <br />i. <br /> <br />removed and retested on a periodic basis by the City for the purpose of <br />certifying accuracy. There shall be no charge for this periodic testing. <br /> <br />The City shall keep an accurate record of each meter in use, read all meters at <br />the end of each billing period and calculate the amount of water used by each <br />consumer. <br /> <br />No person shall be allowed municipal water until the City determines that the <br />meter supplied has been placed in such manner that it will register all water <br />consumed, and that all other parts of the plumbing and pipe fitting in and about <br />the premises has been in full compliance with the rules and regulations which <br />the City shall make from time to time. <br /> <br />Licensed Master Plumbers shall install or supervise the installation of meter <br />horns. The meter horns shall be given to the licensed Master Plumber or <br />plumber's agent upon securing the plumbing permit. <br /> <br />The City shall install all water meters. No customer shall be provided with <br />water unless such meter has been installed. Remote readers shall be installed <br />with each meter by the City at a location designated by the City. <br /> <br />The customer is prohibited from obstructing the meter so as to interfere with the <br />reading or repairing of the water meter or remote reader. <br /> <br />The City shall insure that every customer is provided with a minimum 5/8" <br />water meter. An appropriate charge, reflective of the size of meter, will be <br />required for the use of the meter. This charge shall be established by City <br />Council resolution. <br /> <br />Every water meter shall be sealed by the City at the time of installation or repair. <br />No person shall break or remove said seal. Any broken seal or removed water <br />meter shall be reported to the City within 24 hours of such action. <br /> <br />If any meters are damaged by freezing, hot water, etc., either by carelessness or <br />neglect of the customer, said customer must pay for the repair of such meters. <br />The cost of ordinary maintenance and repairs of all meters owned by the City <br />~ shall be borne by the City. <br /> <br />'At the written request of any customer, the City will test, or cause to be tested, <br />the meter supplying the premises of the customer. If desired, the customer may <br />be present at the time any such test is made. The result of any such test shall be <br />'reported to the customer in every case and if the meter registers in excess of ten <br />Ipercent (10%) error, this test will be performed at no charge. <br /> <br />k. ilf the testing of a meter, as hereinabove provided, indicates that it registers in <br /> !excess of ten percent error, the charge to the customer for water used during the <br /> !quarter and previous quarter within which such test is made shall be equitably <br /> [~djusted by the City on the basis of the meter test results. Any other adjustment <br /> [of charges for water supplied through meters shall be made only by the <br /> !Council. <br />Sul~d. 5.
