Develop and recommend feasible programs relative to the conservation of our <br />environment. <br /> <br /> ; Subd. 3. Economic Development Commission. The primary objective of <br />the Economi~ D%elopment Commission is to further the economic development of Ramsey and <br />vicinity; to a)d, .assist and promote the growth, expansion and development of business and <br />industrial coqcems, including small business concerns in said area and thereby to contribute to the <br />economic we!l-b~ing of the area as measured by increased employment, payroll, business volume, <br />tax base and/~orr*sponding factors. The Economic Development Commission shall: <br /> <br /> a. Review state legislation and local ordinances in order to determine these <br /> regulations' impact of local economic development. The Commission shall <br /> advise the City Council of new legislation and ordinances it would like to see <br /> adopted and/or amendments to the same which it feels will promote economic <br /> development. <br /> <br /> b. Meet with and explore with local developers and business people to learn their <br /> concerns and receive their input as to how the economic climate can be <br /> improved. The Commission shall call upon and meet with elected and <br /> appointed state and local officials along with other appropriate resources it <br /> deems necessary in order to accomplish its goal. <br /> <br /> I Stlbd. 4. Fire Board. The primary objective of the Fire Board is to review <br />administratiw/and/or operational matters relative to fire protection and to advise the City Council of <br />policy matterS relevant to the fire safety function in Ramsey. The duties of the Fire Board shall be <br />to: [ <br /> <br /> ~ a. Provide administrative assistance to the Fire Chief, promote communication <br /> : within the Fire Department and between the Fire Department and other <br /> community leaders. <br /> <br /> b. Act as a selection board for the Fire Chief and make recommendations to the <br /> City Council. <br /> <br /> c. Review Fire Department operation and assist the Fire Chief in determining <br /> possible areas of improvements. <br /> <br /> d. Review and approve rules and regulations for the Fire Department. <br /> <br /> e. Act as Fire Chief administratively in the absence of the Fire Chief. <br /> <br /> f. Review Fire Department Officer appointment recommendations by the Fire <br /> Chief and make recommendations to the Council. <br /> [ Subd. 5. Horse Care Board. The primary objective of the Horse Care Board <br />is to advise t.t/e City Council, other Ramsey advisory commissions and boards, and Ramsey City <br />Staff regardiqg matters relevant to the maintenance of horses on properties within the City of <br />Ramsey. TheJHorse Care Board is to assist in resolving complaints from those persons aggrieved <br />by horses, to InveStigate complaints, to advise horse owners against whom complaints have been <br />lodged and to ~'ecommend to the City Council appropriate action. <br /> I Subd. 6. Board of Adjustment and Appeals. The primary objective of the <br />Board of Adjt~stments and Appeals to review and approve/deny variances from the provisions of <br />the Zoning C. li?pt~r of the City Code where there is strict enforcement would cause undue hardship <br />because of cite_' umlttances unique to the individual property under consideration. The Planning and <br />Zoning Comnfi~'ssi0n shall serve as the Board of Adjustment and Appeals. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
