- 17 - <br /> <br /> 10. Distribution pipes used in trenches or beds for pressure <br />distribution shall be at least one inch in diameter and constructed of sound <br />and duraable maerial not subject to corrosion or decay or to loss of strength <br />under continuously wet conditions. <br /> <br />a. Perforations shall be sized and spaced as shown in Table I. <br /> <br /> 11. The distribution pipes shall be laid level or on a uniform slope <br />away from the distribution device of no n~re than four (4) inches per one <br />hundred (100) feet. <br /> <br /> 12. The distribution pipes in beds shall be uniformly spaced no more <br />than five (5) feet apart and not more than thirty (30) inches from the side <br />walls of the bed. <br /> <br /> 13. The filter material shall completely encase the disposal pipes to <br />a depth of at least two (2) inches. <br /> <br /> 14. The filter material shall be covered with untreated building paper <br />or a two (2) inch layer of hay or straw or similar, approved permeable <br />materials. <br /> <br /> 15. The trenches or beds shall be backfilled with the excavated <br />material and slightly crowned above finished grade to allow for settling. The <br />backfill shall not be compacted to a density greater than that of the original <br />soil. <br /> <br /> 16. The minimum depth of cover over the distribution pipes shall be at <br />least eight (8) inches. The maximum depth of cover over the distribution pipes <br />shall be no more than thirty-six (36) inches and preferably no more than twenty- <br />four (24) inches. <br /> <br />17. A vegetative cover shall be established over the soil treatment <br /> <br />area. <br /> <br />150.01.4(] FINAL TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL - ALTERNATIVE SYSTEMS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 GE~ <br /> <br />The contents of this section apply to the final treatment and disposal of the <br />effluent of a system constructed in accordance with Section 150.01.4. The <br />intent of this section is to provide sewage treatment solutions for those site <br />or soil conditions where a standard system canot be installed or is not the most <br />suitable type of sewage treatment system. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 FLUCTUATING GROUNDWATER <br /> <br /> 1. Where natural drainage will not provide four (4) feet of separation <br />between the bottom of the soil treatment area and the highest known or <br />calculated level of the water table, agricultural drain tile may be used to <br />intercept or lower the seasonal high water table, except within shorelands of <br />public waters. There shall be at least ten (10) feet of undisturbed soil <br />between the sidewall of the soil treatment unit and the agricultural drain <br />tile. <br /> <br /> <br />
