5. 16. <br /> CC Regular Session <br /> Meeting Date: 11/14/2023 <br /> Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Address infrastructure needs. <br /> Information <br /> Title <br /> Adopt Resolution#23-279 Accepting Geotechnical Proposals for Improvement Project#24-03, 2024 NE Ramsey <br /> Street Reconstructions, and Improvement Project#24-05, MSA Xkimo Street Reconstruction <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> Purpose: <br /> The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution#23-279 accepting geotechnical proposals for Improvement <br /> Project#24-03, 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstructions, and Improvement Project#24-05, MSA Xkimo Street <br /> Reconstruction. <br /> Background: <br /> Geotechnical reports inform design Staff of subsoil conditions,which is essential when designing the pavement <br /> section for reconstructed streets. Also included are groundwater elevations and support capabilities of the soils <br /> for utilities and trenches, as well as associated backfilling recommendations. <br /> Hakanson Anderson,the design engineer for these projects, sent requests for proposals to three(3) firms. Staff recommends accepting the proposal for Improvement <br /> Projects 24-03 and 24-05 from Haugo Geotechnical Services. <br /> Notification: <br /> If awarded, Staff will update the project webpage with notification of the geotechnical soil boring crews working <br /> in their neighborhoods. Staff has previously send out project notification letters to impacted residents, notifying <br /> them of the project webpage as the best source for project information. <br /> Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Alternatives: <br /> Motion to adopt Resolution#23-279 Accepting geotechnical proposals for Improvement Project#24-03, 2024 NE <br /> Ramsey Street Reconstructions, and Improvement Project#24-05, MSA Xkimo Street Reconstruction. <br /> Funding Source: <br /> Funding for this improvement is proposed to come from Pavement Management Funds. <br />
