Motion by Councilmember Musgrove, seconded by Councilmember Woestehoff, to direct staff to <br /> prepare preliminary design plans based on the concept plan presented and to update the cost <br /> estimate for further review at the October Public Works Committee meeting, and to explore <br /> proposed improvements to address the drainage concerns of the property owners Southeast of the <br /> Krypton Street cul-de-sac. <br /> A roll call vote was performed: <br /> Councilmember Musgrove aye <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff aye <br /> Chairperson Riley aye <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 5.02: Receive Updates on Improvement Projects, Studies and Items of Interest <br /> City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby reviewed the staff report and provided a brief update <br /> on the current status of pothole patching across the City, and noted that Staff plans to present a <br /> formal update on all 2023 pothole patching work to the City Council at an upcoming work session, <br /> as well as how Staff plans to prepare for 2024. <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff stated that the south parking lot at Central Park was recently paved <br /> but that the pavement surface of the new basketball courts is slick and asked staff to look into this. <br /> A vote was not called for. <br /> 6. COMMITTEE / STAFF INPUT <br /> 6.01: Review Future Topics Calendar <br /> Chairperson Riley asked if Committee members had questions or comments on the calendar. <br /> Chairperson Riley asked staff to add dates in place of"Future/TBD" for the last two items under <br /> "Topics for Discussion — Planning and Budget" titled "Replace City monument sign TH 47 & <br /> Bunker Lk Blvd" and"Targeted Trail Gap Connection Planning". He noted that these items have <br /> been on the list for a long time and he would like them to be addressed in the near future. <br /> Chairperson Riley inquired if others have noticed any traffic issues at the intersection of TH 47 <br /> and Bunker Lake Boulevard due to traffic backing up from the signal system at McKinley Street. <br /> He noted that this signal system is proposed to become permanent so he wanted to make sure no <br /> signal modifications were needed. <br /> City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby stated staff is not aware of any issues resulting from <br /> the McKinley Street signal system. <br /> None of the Committee members had noticed or heard of any traffic issues in this area either. <br /> Public Works Committee/ September 19, 2023 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br />
