Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS/PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Case #1: 2003 Annual Street Maintenance Program <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 7:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that public hearings were being held on Improvement Projects <br />#03-01 through #03-07, which comprise the 2003 Annual Street Maintenance Program. The City <br />has a considerable investment in the 141 miles of bituminous street for which it is responsible. It <br />is estimated that the replacement costs of the bituminous and street base approach $10 million. <br />The City has established the practice of applying timely preventative maintenance to the <br />pavements to preserve this investment. <br /> <br />This year's program consists of seven individual projects, covering 10.2 miles. Five projects <br />involve crackfill/sealcoat projects covering 5.75 miles of roadway. Two projects involve a 1-½ <br />inch bituminous overlay covering 4.45 miles. The assessed cost for this year's program are as <br />follows: for projects 03-01, 03-02, 03-03, 03-05, and 03-07, total assessable project costs are <br />divided equally among the number of benefited properties.
