5. 11. <br /> CC Regular Session <br /> Meeting Date: 12/12/2023 <br /> Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention <br /> Information <br /> Title <br /> Authorization to Promote a Patrol Officer to Sergeant <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> The purpose of this case is to request the City Council to promote a Patrol Officer to the position of Sergeant, as <br /> discussed during budget work sessions. <br /> The Police Department conducted an internal recruitment with many current Police Officers (Patrol Officers)to <br /> fill the position that will be vacant(contingent upon passing the 2024 budget and levy) due to bringing back the <br /> Administrative Sergeant position from several years ago. Many Patrol Officers were interviewed and Officer <br /> Jerad Dixon was selected to be promoted from Patrol Officer to Patrol Sergeant. <br /> The Sergeant selected to fill the Administrative Sergeant position is Sergeant Nick Dahlberg. The Administrative <br /> Sergeant role is considered an assignment slated for a 3-year commitment.
