Anoka County
ADMINISTRATION
Communications
December 28, 2023
Contact: Erik Thorson, Communications Director, 763-324-4612, or e-mail:
Erik.Thorson@co.anoka.mn.us
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Anoka County is Recipient of 2023 cashVest 90+ Award
The Anoka County Board of Commissioners commended the County's Finance and
Central Services Division employees Dec. 19 for their hard work that led to Anoka County being
the only Minnesota county to win the cashVest 90+ award this year.
The award signifies excellence in the implementation and management of all liquidity in
the public and higher education marketplace, as explained by cashVest. It is not based on what the
marketplace is paying for cash, but rather how a public entity or higher education institution
operates within distinct qualifying areas.
"This is one way we can make money by making smart decisions," said Matt Look,
chair, Anoka County Board of Commissioners. "Being recognized for excellent management of
our finances falls right in line with our county's mission of being fiscally responsible. To be the
only county in our state to win the cashVest award this year shows how diligently our staff works
on a daily basis."
CashVest collaborates with public entities to ensure they are achieving the highest return
on their financial resources. This recognition is earned by only 22 percent of public finance offices.
"We are very privileged to get this award," said Chief Financial Officer Cory Kampf. "This
is very exciting for us and a testament to our investment program. We work alongside our banks
to increase our returns and optimally gain whatever we can for the county. It takes a team effort,
and I think we have a great program."
The National Association of Counties (NACo) provides the award, in conjunction with
three+one, a specialized national financial -technology company that analyzes public sector cash
management practices.
-more-
Respectful, Innovative, Fiscally Responsible
Government Center A 2100 3rd Avenue, Suite 700 A Anoka, MN 55303-5024 A www.anokacounty.us
Office: 763-324-4700 A Fax: 763-324-5490
Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
