· May 11, 2006
Page 2

On Saturday, May 19, 2007, we would depart the Anoka County fairgrounds by McKinley
Street, Lund Boulevard, and Thurston Avenues to the Thurston Avenue intersection with CSAH
116 where we would enter the city of Ramsey. We would plan to proceed westward on Bunker
Lake Boulevard to Sunwood Drive N'W, west on Sunwood Drive to the intersection with
Armstrong Boulevard, north on Armstrong Boulevard to 161st Avenue NW, east on 161~
Avenue to Verialite, south on Verialite to Alpine Drive, east on Alpine Drive to Waco Street
NW, south on Waco Street to 142ua Avenue NW, west on 142~a Avenue to Akimo Street NW,
north on Xkimo Street NW to TH 47, thence heading south on TH 47, back to the Anoka
County fairgrounds. There we would hold our final night of camping as a group on Saturday
night, May 19th, 2007.

Sunday morning of that weekend we would hold an ecumenical church service at the
fairgrounds, have a brunch for ail participants, and break camp about 12:00 noon on May 20,
2007.

I would appreciate your assistance in allowing the use of your facilities for this worthwhile
community event. Please visit www.ae-hs.orgYwagontrainindex for an overview of the project.

By this letter I am asking for the procedure necessary to acquire a permit from the City to utilize
the route indicated above on May 18t~ and 19a~, 2007. I recognize that these dates are quite far
off; however, as with the original wagon trains of 150 years ago, advance planning is key to
success. I need to tie down a mute so that we're assured a route for the wagon train. I
anticipate registration will begin in the relatively-near future.

In addition, I am wondering if your fire department might be willing to supply water for the
livestock on May 18ts, 19t~ and 20th at the fairgrounds. During similar events, local fire
departments have located a tank on site and left it filled with water so that participants could dip
water from the tank to water their livestock. I would be interested on your thoughts on this
subject as well.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to working with you to a successful
completion of the project. I'll be contacting you in the next few days and hopefu!ly we will be
able to talk over issues regarding the use of your facilities. In the meantime, if you have
questions, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

JO:kr
Enclosure

Jon G. Olson, P.E.
Division Manager, Public Services
