Ramsey Fire Department Training Program
The City of Ramsey Fire Department conducted a
training program designed to help their firefighters maintain
skills and train using new equipment and firefighting
techniques. On January 6, they burned a vacant house to
simulate actual working conditions, following the National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for Fire
Department Training Burns, NFPA 1403. These standards
are designed to maintain a safe training environment and are
strictly adhered to by the City of Ramsey Fire Department.
GET INVOLVED!
Use your life skills to
find solutions, generate
ideas and advise the
City Council.
Join one of Ramsey's advisory
Boards or Commissions.
For more information or to
apply, please visit www.
cityoframsey.com/boards
or call Human Resources
at 763-433-9866.
•
.; Watch stories from
d v Ramsey on MTV's
\ YouTube channel!
Scan the QR Code or visit
www.YouTube.com/QCTV
Never miss a story —subscribe today!
0
Recycle Excess Cardboard Boxes
Around the holidays, it seems as though
many of us end up with lots of extra
cardboard boxes that won't necessarily fit
in the curbside recycling cart. Well, we've
got you covered! Now until January
19, two dumpsters will be available
for residents to recycle all those extra
cardboard boxes. The dumpsters will be
at the old Public Works campus, 14100
Jasper Street NW. Please flatten all boxes
to help conserve space in the dumpsters. These dumpsters
are for cardboard and other recyclable paper only.
Holiday Lights Recycling
The Ramsey Municipal Center will
again serve as a drop-offlocation for
recycling holiday lights, extension,
telephone and appliance cords. They
can be dropped off at the Ramsey
Municipal Center (7550 Sunwood
Drive NW) during regular business
hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00
am-4:30 pm, now until the end of January 2024.
A collection cart will be in the main lobby of the building.
There is no cost to residents for this service. Please DO
NOT put strands of holiday lights in your recycling cart.
They are not accepted as a material through the curbside
recycling program, as they cause a lot of issues at the
materials recovery facilities. 'flight strands are mounted
on plastic `framing' (used to form shapes such as snowmen,
stars, etc.), the plastic framing must be removed and
disposed of in your garbage.
Looking to switch to water
efficient appliances?
replace it!
4
Find more info about the $20
www.cityoframsey.com/wrebate
or call 763-433-9817
CLEAN
WATER
LAND &
LEGACY
CITY OF RAMSEY I Weekly UPDATE January 12, 2024 2
