The City Council proceeded to canvass the City election returns from all City precincts, reporting <br />ballots cast as follows: <br />Office of Councilmember At -Large Ballot Count <br />Jeffrey Menth 343 <br />Richard Wulf 310 <br />Write Ins 2 <br />The Abstract of Votes Cast is attached to this set of minutes. <br />Motion by Councilmember Musgrove and seconded by Councilmember Kuzma to accept the <br />results of the 2019 Special General Election as indicated above. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor LeTourneau, Councilmembers Riley, Kuzma, and <br />Musgrove. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Heinrich. <br />5. MAYOR/COUNCIL STAFF INPUT <br />Councilmember Musgrove commented that there were up to 8 election judges at the polls and <br />wondered about reducing the number of judges for special elections. She also inquired about <br />combining polling places for special elections. <br />Administrative Services Director Lasher stated there are a minimum number of judges required <br />per polling location but staff will look into the matter. She also stated that staff requested Anoka <br />County to draft language to start the legislative process of allowing combined polling places for <br />special elections. <br />Councilmember Kuzma asked how we could increase voter turn -out. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated the turn -out of 4.07% was better than the last special election. <br />He stated that additional signage was put out in City and directly outside of City Hall, which may <br />have helped. <br />Councilmember Musgrove asked what the turn -out was for the last special election. <br />Administrative Services Director Lasher stated it was 1.48%. <br />6.
