Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #24-049 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING LETTERS OF SUPPORT FOR ANOKA COUNTY TO <br /> APPLY FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR <br /> NOWTHEN BOULEVARD/ CSAH 5 ROUNDABOUT IMPROVEMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, Nowthen Boulevard / CSAH 5 is an "A" minor arterial expander route that <br /> provides an important north-south transportation connection in Anoka County; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County reviews and analyzes their County Highway system for areas <br /> where there is significant safety benefit for improvements on their County transportation system <br /> which will benefit the public; and, <br /> WHEREAS, upon reviewing the intersections on CSAH 5 within the City of Ramsey, <br /> and pertaining to the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) selection criteria for 2024 <br /> program year, Anoka County staff determined the intersections of Sunwood Drive, Ramsey <br /> Boulevard and 167th Avenue are good candidates for HSIP funding to construct new <br /> roundabouts; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County intends to submit HSIP applications for program year 2024 <br /> by February 1, 2024. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) That the City of Ramsey supports Anoka County in submitting three Highway Safety <br /> Improvement Program (HSIP) applications for roundabout improvements on CSAH 5 <br /> (Nowthen Boulevard) at the intersections of Sunwood Drive, Ramsey Boulevard and <br /> 167th Avenue for program year 2024. <br /> 2) That the City Administrator is authorized and directed to sign three letters of support for <br /> the HSIP applications. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> and the following were absent: <br />
