January 8, 2024 <br /> Joe MacPherson, P.E. <br /> Chief Officer of Transportation <br /> Anoka County Highway Department <br /> 1440 Bunker Lake Boulevard <br /> Andover, MN 55304 <br /> RE: Support of Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Funding Application for a <br /> Roundabout at Nowthen Boulevard NW (CSAH 5) and Sunwood Drive NW in Ramsey <br /> Dear Mr. MacPherson: <br /> The City of Ramsey is in full support of Anoka County's Highway Safety Improvement Program funding <br /> application for a roundabout and associated improvements at the intersection of Nowthen Boulevard <br /> with Sunwood Drive. <br /> The CSAH 5 and Sunwood Drive intersection is an important connection point for motorists, bicyclists <br /> and pedestrians traveling within and through Ramsey. The City has been very involved in shaping <br /> future plans for Nowthen Boulevard through the CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) Corridor Traffic Study(2021) <br /> led by Anoka County and is extremely supportive of the study recommendations and this HSIP <br /> application to implement a portion of that vision. <br /> The City of Ramsey appreciates the County's efforts and those of project partners to address the <br /> challenges associated with safe travel through and within the community. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Signatory <br /> Title <br /> City of Ramsey <br />
