6. 1. <br /> Environmental Policy Board(EPB) <br /> Meeting Date: 08/21/2023 <br /> PrimaryStrategic Plan Initiative: Create a positive image for residential neighborhoods,business districts and key <br /> g corridors. <br /> Information <br /> Title: <br /> Pollinator Garden Planting Update <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> In March of this year, Staff provided the Environmental Policy Board(EPB)with an update on a pollinator <br /> project between the railroad tracks and Veterans Drive. This included an opportunity for the EPB to actively <br /> participate in establishing/planting a portion of the demonstration garden directly adjacent to the Northstar <br /> Commuter Rail station. In March,the EPB was supportive of the project and agreed to participate in the planting <br /> activity. Furthermore,the EPB noted a desire to have that occur on the same night as a regularly scheduled <br /> meeting. <br /> The planting of the demonstration garden is scheduled for September 18, 2023,which is the date of the next EPB <br /> meeting. Planting will begin sometime between 5:00pm and 5:30pm(Staff will send out a reminder with specific <br /> details prior to the planting) and will conclude no later than 6:15pm.
