Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #24-051 <br /> RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE HOURLY WAGES FOR <br /> TEMPORARY SEASONAL EMPLOYEES WORKING IN THE PUBLIC WORKS <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, it has become more challenging to fill seasonal temporary positions due to <br /> competing wages in the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to fulfill the City's recruiting needs, staff recommends the starting <br /> hourly wage be increased; and <br /> WHEREAS, as part of the 2024 budgeting process, the City Council agreed by consensus <br /> to a new pay range of$15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) Increase the wage scale for temporary seasonal Parks, Streets, and Utilities employees to <br /> $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications; effective immediately; and <br /> 2) This motion includes spring, summer, and fall temporary seasonal employees; and <br /> 3) This motion excludes temporary AFSCME employees and temporary on-call snowplow <br /> drivers. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> Woestehoff, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff <br /> Councilmember Howell <br /> Councilmember Olson <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> None <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> None <br />
