PW CASE

APPROVE OFFERS IN THE AMOUNT OF APPRAISAL
FOR 153/155 AVENUE PROJECT (IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #99-51)
By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer

Background:

Attached is the CIP project sheet for the above referenced project, which has been scheduled for
this fiscal year. This 0.7-mile stretch of roadway is the last piece remaining in the completion of
a cross-city, east/west collector street, a distance of over six miles.

Plans and specifications for the project have been updated and are ready for bidding. However,
before bidding can take place, the right-of-way for the project needs to be acquired. Council
authorized the updating of the original appraisal done in 1995. The appraisal updates have been
completed. Attached is a summary of the appraisal amounts. Copies of the appraisal are
available for inspection in the City Engineer's office. Since none of the properties require
relocation of residents, it would be possible to bid the project in November if eminent domain
quick-take resolution were passed at the August 27 City Council meeting. The resolution will be
handled through Evergreen Land Services.

Committee Action:

Motion to recommend that City Council authorize offers for the necessary right-of-way in the
amount of the appraised values.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Director of Public Works
City Attorney

PW: 07/27/99
