Board Member Bentz mentioned that if two events were desired, the Anoka County Fair
might be a better venue for education.

Chairperson McDilda stated that the Board could consider having a booth at the Happy
Days celebration. He presented Coordinator Anderson with a list of 5 names interested in
more information on purchasing composting bins.

Board Member Hustvedt volunteered to draft a letter thanking them for their interest and
attendance at the event. He inquired about getting it put on City letterhead. He believed
it should be sent from the City because it was coming from an official City Board and not
a private party.

Board Member Olds requested an E-Mail address for the EPB.

Coordinator Anderson agreed to send the letter if Board Member Hustvedt drafted it.

Case #3: 2006/2007 EPB Work Plan

Coordinator Anderson stated that since this Work Plan was the first without Council
directives, it would go to a Work Session. He planned to briefly update Council on the
Wetland Study ground-proofing.

Chairperson McDilda added he would be joining Coordinator Anderson at the Work
Session and they would be bringing the map and inviting Council to the EPB meetings.
He believed the presentation would generate some good questions concerning the
ground-proofing. It could cause a reprioritizing of what the EPB would discuss in detail.
He invited all Board Members to the Work Session at the Fire Station.

Coordinator Anderson indicated there were three agenda items with the EPB Work Plan
to be discussed second. The meeting was to begin at 5:30 p.m., so he estimated this topic
would begin about 6:15 p.m. if other Board Members would like to attend. It is open to
the public. He stated it was not an official joint meeting, hut it would be beneficial for
Council to see the Board Members and their support for the Work Plan.

Chairperson McDilda inquired if the Board Members could go to the meeting, and found
that Board Members Freeburg and Max could be there and possibly Board Member
Sibilski.

Coordinator Anderson mentioned he did not anticipate the need each year to go to the
Council Work Session, but thought it appropriate this year because the EPB was a new
Board.

Chairperson McDilda stated that the actions of the EPB were evolutionary in nature and it
was necessary for Council to be routinely updated.

Environmental Policy Board / May 1, 2006
