COUNCIL BUSINESS/PUBLIC HEARING

Case #1: Introduce Ordinance to Vacate Drainage and Utility Easements in
Park 67 Industrial Park; Case of Camas Minnesota, Inc.

Mayor Gamcc adjourned the regular portion of the Council meeting at 7:10 p.m. in order
to conduct the public heating.

Public Hearing

Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 7:10 p.m.

Presentation

Jim Lindberg, representing CAMAS Minnesota, stated that if Council takes action to
vacate drainage and utility easements in Park 67 Industrial Park this evening, they have a
quick claims deed. This should suffice to convey a 10' utility easement all around the
property. CAMAS will sign the deed for exchange of the easements.

Citizen Input

None

Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to
close the public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Hendriksen,
Anderson and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

The public hearing closed at 7:12 p.m.

Council Business

Councilmember Haas Steffen inquired of Ms. Frolik if this is indeed just an exchange to
which Ms. Frolik replied yes, these are standard easements.

Discussion ensued relating to water/drainage. Mr. Goodrich stated that action on this
ordinance will not change the direction of the drainage - it only re-establishes the
drainage easements. The overall drainage is not impacted.

Councilmember Haas Steffen asked for reassurance from the City Engineer that our
drainage will not be hindered by this vacation.

Ms. Frolik reported that this issue has been reviewed by the City Engineer and these are
standard easements. The City Engineer is certain that the drainage will not be affected.

City Council/January 12, 1999
Page 4
