Case #I0: Award Bid for Annual Pet Clinic

Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adopt
Resolution//99-04-061 awarding the bid for the 1999 Annual Pet Clinic to AMVET of
Elk River.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Anderson,
Hendriksen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

Case #11: Information Item: Burger King Site Plan

Community Development Assistant Walther stated that the City Council approved a
Comprehensive Plan amendment to expand the Metropolitan Urban Services Area
boundary and extend municipal sewer and water to the Burger King site on the northwest
comer of Highway #10 and Ramsey Boulevard. The applicant and City staffhave been
working with MnDOT to resolve issues relating to access onto Highway//10. Minor
modifications resulted to the approved site plan as a result of the facility now being
developed with City services and resolution of the Highway//10 access. With respect to
the Highway #10 access, Dolphin Fast Foods entered into an agreement with MnDOT
and the Anoka West Pet Hospital to the west for a shared access onto #10. Mr. Walther
noted the updated plans from Dolphin Fast Food Development and noted that there is no
action necessary. This is simply an update for Council.

Case #12: Consider Purchase of Piano for Senior's Area (City Hall)

Mayor Gamec presented some information relating to a digital piano he is looking at for
the Senior's area in City Hall. He noted that it does not have to be tuned and temperature
and humidity change do not affect it.

Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to spend up to
$1,000 for a digital piano for the senior's area of City Hall and that the funding should
come from the Council Contingency Fund.

Further discussion: Councilmember Anderson suggested maybe the Lions Club would be
interested in putting some money toward this purchase.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Anderson,
Hendriksen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None.

City Council/April 13, 1999
