2. 1. <br />CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />02/26/2024 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Continue Discussions Regarding Proposed Updates to the Personnel Policy <br />Purpose/Background: <br />For the purpose of tonight's meeting, staff will review sections three through six of the City's Personnel Policy. <br />Staff will focus the discussion on changes where City Council feedback or direction is desired. However, the <br />majority of the policy is open for discussion. Section 6 of the policy does include regulations required by statute, <br />and therefore cannot be eliminated. These section include Family and Medical Leave, Bone Marrow Donation, <br />Military Leave, Pregnancy and parenting Leave, School Conference and Activities Leave, and Jury of Witness <br />Duty. <br />Sections one, two and twelve were discussed previously. Sections seven through eleven will be discussed at a <br />future work session meeting. Prior to this policy being brought forward for adoption, the City Attorney will <br />review the entire policy in order to ensure the content is consistent with federal and state law.
