CASE # REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE ON AN UNIMPROVED SURFACE It'~ THE R-1 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; CASE OF RV WORLD, INC. By: Chris Anderson, Zoning & Recycling Coordinator Background: RV World, Inc. has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to allow for outdoor storage of surplus Recreational Vehicles (RVs) and travel trailers on an unimproved surface on the property located at 14453 Llama StNW. The following items are enclosed for your review: a) b) c) d) e) f) g) Site location map Site drawing Letter from neighboring property owner, Shorewood RV Planning Commission meeting minutes dated May 4, 2006 Draft City Council meeting minutes dated May 23, 2006 Proposed Resolution for Findings of Fact Proposed Resolution to deny request Notification: State law requires notification to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries of the subject property and property owners within that radius were notified. Observations: RV World, Ine is currently storing RVs and travel trailers on an unimproved surface on a residentially zoned property that is currently used for agricultural purposes. They are using this site to store surplus merchandise that can be transported to their business locale on Highway I0 as merchandise there is depleted. They have applied for an interim use permit to allow for this activity for a period of five (5) years, The Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the request at their May 4, 2006 meeting. The Planning Commission recommended approving an interim use permit until September 30, 2007. The request was then presented to City Council at their May 23, 2006 meeting. Based on the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the findings of fact were drafted to support the request. However, after further discussion of this request at the Council meeting, City Council tabled the request and directed Staffto revise the findings of fact to deny the request. -1
