CASE # <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT TO <br />ALLOW FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE ON AN UNIMPROVED SURFACE <br />It'~ THE R-1 RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; CASE OF RV WORLD, INC. <br /> By: Chris Anderson, Zoning & Recycling Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />RV World, Inc. has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to allow for outdoor storage <br />of surplus Recreational Vehicles (RVs) and travel trailers on an unimproved surface on the property <br />located at 14453 Llama StNW. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your review: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />d) <br />e) <br />f) <br />g) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Site drawing <br />Letter from neighboring property owner, Shorewood RV <br />Planning Commission meeting minutes dated May 4, 2006 <br />Draft City Council meeting minutes dated May 23, 2006 <br />Proposed Resolution for Findings of Fact <br />Proposed Resolution to deny request <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State law requires notification to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries of the subject property <br />and property owners within that radius were notified. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />RV World, Ine is currently storing RVs and travel trailers on an unimproved surface on a <br />residentially zoned property that is currently used for agricultural purposes. They are using this site <br />to store surplus merchandise that can be transported to their business locale on Highway I0 as <br />merchandise there is depleted. They have applied for an interim use permit to allow for this activity <br />for a period of five (5) years, <br /> <br />The Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the request at their May 4, 2006 <br />meeting. The Planning Commission recommended approving an interim use permit until September <br />30, 2007. The request was then presented to City Council at their May 23, 2006 meeting. Based on <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the findings of fact were drafted to support the <br />request. However, after further discussion of this request at the Council meeting, City Council tabled <br />the request and directed Staffto revise the findings of fact to deny the request. <br /> <br />-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
