4) End Probationary Period Extension of Finance Clerk Joan Smith Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to approve Resolution #99-10-197 ending the probationary period for employee Joan Smith and granting her the status of regular, part-time Finance Clerk, effective on Joan's one-year anniversary of September 21, 1999. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 5) Receive Hiring Recommendation for Public Works Maintenance Worker Position Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to authorize Staff to offer a conditional hire to Mark Giese as the Public Works Maintenance Worker, contingent upon successful completion of background investigations of driving record and criminal history, reference checks, and a physical examination, at an annual salary of $24,071. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Hendriksen, Anderson, and Connolly. Voting No: None. 6) Authorization for Consultant Services for Organization and Recruitment Services for the Community Development Department Vacancies Item was tabled. 7) Authorization to Fill Vacancy in Administrative Services Manager Position Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to authorize Staff to proceed with the process of placing a general ad to fill the vacant positions. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 8) Authorize City to Enter into a Joint Police Officer Testing Process Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to authorize the City of Ramsey to participate in a joint testing process with Blaine and other cities to perform advertising and PDI-LEAP testing, with associated advertising costs and staffing to be shared equally among all participating cities.
