<br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

<br /> CITY OF RAMSEY

<br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA
<br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
<br /> Notice is hereby given that the Ramsey
<br />City Council will hold a public hearing on
<br />Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at 7:00 p.m., at
<br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen
<br />Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303.
<br /> The purpose of the hearing is to consider
<br />an amendment to Chapter 3 of the Ramsey
<br />Home .Rule Charter. The amendment would
<br />repeal the following: Section 3.2 Liaison
<br />Function which states 'Councilmembers shall
<br />be assigned as liaison to necessary areas both
<br />internal and external to the city. These assign-
<br />ments shall be rotated periodically and shall
<br />involve no administrative responsibility". 3.2.1
<br />Precinct kiaison which states "Following the
<br />adoption of this charter, a system of yearly
<br />rotation precinct liaisons shall be e~tablished
<br />such that three of the four councilmembers
<br />will act as liaison for one of the three precincts
<br />for a period of one year. At no time shall the
<br />same councilmember act as liaison for the
<br />same precinct during his/her full four-year
<br />term, nor shall any councilmembe'r.act as liai-
<br />son to the city at large for a period longer than
<br />one year during his/her full four year term.
<br />.2.2. Precinct Boundaries which states "The
<br />recinct boundaries shall correspond to those
<br />dopted and revised periodically by council.
<br />There shall be three (3) precincts and they
<br />shall approximate each other in population.
<br /> All interested persons are invited to attend
<br />the hearing and comment on the proposed
<br />Charter amendment. The City of Ramsey com-
<br />plies with the Americans with Disabilities Act
<br />and, upon advance request,' information will be
<br />provided in an alternative form and interpreters
<br />will be available. Any person with such a
<br />request should, contact Administrative SerVices
<br />Manager Ioyce Pruitt Hottinger at 427-1410 by
<br />5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 1999.
<br />There is a TDD machine at Ramsey Municipal
<br />Center; the number is 427-8591.
<br /> Written comments are welcome and shall
<br />be addressed to the Ramsey City Council,
<br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey,
<br />Minnesota, 55303. Written comments shall be
<br />received at the above address prior to 5:00
<br />. p.m.'on Tuesday, October 12, 1999.

<br />of September, 1999 and was thereafter printed and published on every Friday to and
<br />including Friday, the 8th day of October, 1999, and printed below is a copy of the lower
<br />case alphabet from A to Z, both inclusive, which is hereby acknowledged as being the size
<br />and kind of type used in the composition and publication of the notice:
