• Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #00 -35, 141 AVENUE N.W./EBONY STREET N.W. STREET & UTILITY CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, on March 27, 2001, City Council adopted Resolution #01- 03 -164A approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #00 -35, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the six lowest quotes that were received: Bidder Erickson Construction W.B. Miller Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. Kober Excavating, Inc. Randy Kramer Excavating, Inc. LaTour Construction ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE bidder. Mayor Gamec Councilmember Kurak Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Anderson Councilmember Hendriksen RESOLUTION #01 -04 -194 Amount of Bid $493,392.80 $509,431.25 $524,535.02 $528,659.55 $531,842.10 $545,330.79 $510,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Erickson Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Erickson Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #00 -35 in the amount of $493,392.80. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
