• <br />Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #00 -35, 141 AVENUE N.W./EBONY STREET N.W. <br />STREET & UTILITY CONSTRUCTION <br />WHEREAS, on March 27, 2001, City Council adopted Resolution #01- 03 -164A <br />approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #00 -35, <br />bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the six lowest quotes that were received: <br />Bidder <br />Erickson Construction <br />W.B. Miller <br />Volk Sewer & Water, Inc. <br />Kober Excavating, Inc. <br />Randy Kramer Excavating, Inc. <br />LaTour Construction <br />ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE <br />bidder. <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />RESOLUTION #01 -04 -194 <br />Amount of Bid <br />$493,392.80 <br />$509,431.25 <br />$524,535.02 <br />$528,659.55 <br />$531,842.10 <br />$545,330.79 <br />$510,000.00 <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Erickson Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Erickson Construction, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />construction of Improvement Project #00 -35 in the amount of $493,392.80. <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />
