Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #01 -12 -441 <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0594 RELATING TO A <br />REQUEST FROM ANCHOR'S AWAY INC. AND CROSSTOWN SIGN FOR A <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXCEED SIGN SQUARE FOOTAGE <br />RESTRICTIONS ESTABLISHED IN CITY CODE <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Anchor's Away Inc. and <br />Crosstown Center Sign for a conditional use peimit to exceed the sign square footage restrictions <br />the property legally described as follows: <br />Lot 2, Block 1, Deal Industrial Park, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br />( "Subject Property ") <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact relating <br />to the request are determined to be as follows: <br />1. That Anchor's Away Inc. and Crosstown Center Sign, hereinafter referred to as the <br />"Applicants," properly applied for a conditional use permit to exceed sign square footage and <br />height restrictions on the Subject Property. <br />2. That the Applicants appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing <br />pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on December 4, 2001, and that said public <br />hearing was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby <br />incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. <br />3. That the Subject Property is approximately 1.83 acres in size. <br />4. That the Subject Property and the parcels to the north, south, east and west are zoned B -3 <br />Highway Business. <br />5. That Section 9.12.08, Subd. 2, of the Ramsey City Code states that wall signs shall be limited <br />to 15% of the front building facade. <br />6. That the Applicant is allowed 122 square feet of wall signage on the Subject Property. <br />7. That the Applicant is proposing to erect an awning sign that will extend along the building <br />front and a portion of the east and west sides of the building. <br />8. That the awning is 315 square feet in size and entirety of the awning surface will be faced <br />with business and service advertising along with color logos. <br />9. The installation of the 315 square foot advertising awning results in a 193 square foot <br />overage in the allowable wall signs on the building. <br />10. That the Applicant is proposing to remove all existing wall signs. <br />
