• <br />Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #01 -12 -448 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF CAREY SCHIFERLI TO FULL -TIME <br />COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER <br />WIIEREAS, on December 12, 2000, the City Council authorized hiring a part-time <br />Community Service Officer as approved under the 2001 budget; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 13, 2001, the City Council authorized hiring Carey Schiferli as <br />a part -time Community Service Officer and he began work on February 26, 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001, the City Council authorized an additional twenty <br />(20) hours per week for a Community Service Officer as approved under the 2002 budget; and <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the additional opportunity was posted internally for five (5) business days; <br />WHEREAS, Carey Schiferli, the City of Ramsey's current part -time Community Service <br />Officer, was the only individual to express an interest in these hours and with these additional <br />hours, Mr. Schiferli would become a full -time employee; and <br />WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee, at its December 18, 2001, meeting agreed with <br />the staff recommendation to grant Carey Schiferli the additional twenty (20) hours to become a <br />full -time Community Service Officer effective January 1, 2002. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to grant Carey Schiferli the additional twenty (20) hours thereby <br />making him a full -time Community Service Officer effective January 1, 2002. <br />2) That in his new position as a full -time auto mechanic, Mr. Schiferli will be compensated <br />at an annual rate consistent with the union contract and two weeks of vacation and be <br />required to complete a six month probationary period. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />CouncilmemberZimmerman <br />
