City Hall remodeling was talked about as was MSA. <br /> <br />The work session recessed at 6:00 p.m. to call the Truth in Taxation hearing to order. <br /> <br />The work session reconvened at 6:24 p.m. <br /> <br />#2: Redevelopment Study <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman handed out a document relating to a redevelopment study. The <br />study went to the Planning Commission. The objective of the study is to identify areas of the <br />community that are in need of redevelopment. A breakdown as follows was suggested for a task <br />force (8 to 10 people) - one City Council representative, two Economic Development Authority <br />representatives, two Planning Commission representatives, and the remainder be land owners, <br />business owners, and citizens at large. <br /> <br />Discussion included Highway #10 and Mayor Gamec suggested the City should get outside help <br />to deal with Highway #10. Staff will begin working with Council on whom the task force should <br />be and start suggesting names. <br /> <br />#3: Charter Commission Recommendation <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated there are three recommendations that came out the Charter <br />meeting. The joint meeting with the Charter brought discussion of wards, primaries and the <br />number of City Council representation. We met with the EDA and Park and Recreation, and we <br />are trying to put together a meeting with the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Schedule of Meetings and Other <br /> <br />Special City Council meeting - December 7, 6:00 p.m. The bids are back for Waltek. This will <br />be followed by a work session for Highway #47. <br /> <br />Ribbon cutting ceremony at Life Fitness, Wednesday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Comp Plan will not be done in time for the City Council meeting but we may want to talk <br />about it. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session - December 6, 1999 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
