D. The owner shall install the cores. At the contractor's request, the owner shall install a limited <br /> number of temporary cores during construction with the appropriate cost charged to the <br /> contractor. <br /> E. The contractor must request all owner keys 24 hours in advance of using them. The contractor <br /> will be charged for any keys that are not returned to the owner when the project is completed. <br /> The charge will be equal to the cost of replacing any locks and keys relevant to the key code for <br /> those locks and keys. <br /> 2.21 KEY CABINETS <br /> A. Acceptable manufacturers and respective catalog numbers: <br /> Lund Key Control Telkee <br /> 1. PART 242 - 12 PART 243- M PART 244 - R <br /> 00-1205 AA 228-2480 WC-AWC <br /> B. Furnish 1 each model 1200 or 1205 AA key cabinet with a capacity 1.5 times the number of key <br /> sets. <br /> C. Provide one key cabinet with at least one hook for each key set, plus additional hooks for 50% <br /> expansion. <br /> D. Furnish key cabinet complete with cam lock, permanent key tags, and change key cards. <br /> E. Hardware supplier shall prepare all key change index records, tag all keys and place permanent <br /> file keys in cabinet. <br /> 2.22 FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS BOX <br /> A. Acceptable manufacturers, subject to compliance with specified requirements, acceptable <br /> manufacturers and products are: <br /> 1. Dama, S3 (surface-mount) <br /> 2. Dama, R3 (recessed mount) <br /> 3. Knox-Box, 3200 Series <br /> 4. Tru-Lock (recessed mount), Eau Claire, WI <br /> B. Verify manufacturer is acceptable to local Fire Department. <br /> C. Requirements: <br /> 1. Coordinate keying requirements with the authority having jurisdiction. <br /> 2. Verify surface or flush mount box with E/A. <br /> 3. Finish: Corrosion resistant. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 EXAMINATION <br /> A. Prior to installation of hardware, installer shall examine door frame installation to ensure frames <br /> have been set square and plumb. Installer shall examine doors, door frames, and adjacent wall, <br /> floor, and ceiling for conditions, which would adversely affect proper operation and function of <br /> door assemblies. Do not proceed with hardware installation until such deficiencies have been <br /> corrected. <br /> 3.2 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Install all hardware in accordance with the approved hardware schedule and manufacturer's <br /> instructions for installation and adjustment. <br /> B. Set units level, plumb and true to the line and location. Adjust and reinforce the attachment <br /> substrate as necessary for proper installation and operation. <br /> C. Drill and countersink units which are not factory-prepared for anchorage fasteners.
